And the Winner is ...

Great-Aunt Jan!

Our ExpectNet online baby pool is, obviously, over now, though I will admit, Maggie's unexpected arrival skewed the guess-ability of those who participated :) You can see the results here (game name: PeanutWebb)

We had a good time with it, and hope y'all enjoyed it as well.

Congratulations, Auntie Jan!

Maggie Has Visitors

Maggie had a couple of happy visitors ...

Uncle Danny LOVES being "Uncle Danny" ... I'm sure Maggie already has him wrapped around her little finger :) ...

...and Aunt Nici stopped by to see the newest family addition.
Maggie got to meet Lauren and Clarke yesterday, too, but I didn't think about taking pictures (Hubby and I both need to get better at remembering to do that!). Lauren and Clarke are her cousins on the Donatelli side, and she got to spend a little time with them while they're in town.
In other Maggie news, she had a weigh-in at the doctor's office yesterday, and is now up to 5 pounds. She continues to eat well and is up about every 3 hours like a clock. Those 2am and 5am feedings are a little difficult, but we're slowly adjusting to fragmented sleep. I need to learn how to nap so I can get sleep during the day! I've never been a napper, but it would be a handy skill to have right now :)

More Maggie

Just wanted to share a few more pictures of our sweet little girl.

(The cell phone is just for perspective ... isn't she tiny?!)

(And incredibly cute!)

(She loves to stick her feet out ... her Uncle Danny calls that her Crossley temperature gauge.)

The ALL IMPORTANT Pictures :)

***UPDATE: Oops, folks. It totally slipped my mind to tell y'all that Maggie went home from the hospital last night. We took the pics of her with her Easter baskets in our living room. Her bili-ruben count was down on its own yesterday afternoon (without her having been in phototherapy for most of the day), so she was discharged. She's continuing to do well, and had her first official doctor's appointment today. She has lost a little weight so we're going back Wednesday just for a weight check, but she's eating well and all, so I'm sure she'll be fine. Thanks for all of your concern for our little Peanut :)

Mornin' everyone,

Just sharing a few photos. We had a good night last night, though I think Hubby and I will take some time adjust to this whole up-all-through-the-night routine. Plus you have to factor in the worrying. My Hubby is NOT a worrier, but even he gets up just to see that Maggie is breathing ... and I thought I would be the only one to act like that :)

And, because I know everyone is just waiting on pins and needles ... here are pics of our new addition!

These first ones are when we were both still in the hospital.

The next 2 pictures are from Easter Sunday. The pediatric nursing staff at the hospital provided all the kids with Easter baskets, so Maggie got to celebrate!

And let me just say ... trying to catch pictures of a squirmy 4 day-old? Not so easy :)

Fantastic News. And a Little Bit of Sadness.

I think most of you have heard this by now ... but just in case, and since this blog has been all about Peanut for months now anyway, here is the "official" news:

Jorde & Jennie are thrilled to announce
the birth of their daughter,
Margaret Grace Webb
Wednesday, April 8, 2009
at 8:32 pm
4 lbs 11 oz, 17 inches long

She came a wee bit earlier than anticipated, so the poor child looks homeless due to lack of clothes that fit. Or a bedroom that's ready for her. But things went well enough, all things considered.

Long story short: I was admitted to the hospital with preterm labor last Saturday. When they realized they couldn't get it to stop without large quantities of magnesium (worse stuff to be on ever!!), they gave me steriod shots to help Peanut's lungs mature ... just in case. Well, by Wednesday morning, my doc decided we'd given it our best try and that it was time to let things happen as they were clearly intending to. So, about 7 weeks early, along came Maggie.

I would like to say here that Hubby did very well and even saw the gross stuff. AND cut the umbilical cord. So, peeps, prayers can be answered!! (He's currently reading over my shoulder and poking me in the ribs telling me I'm mean, but laughing, too ;0)

Maggie has been doing remarkably well, considering her gestational age. We had been prepared for by the NICU docs for the worse case scenario, but she ended up rooming in with us the entire time in the hospital, and never once went to the NICU. Yea!

We all went home last night (Friday) but are currently back in the hospital. We had instructions from the hospital pediatrician to take her in today to have her bili-ruben count checked, since it had been a bit elevated. Well, it was even more elevated today, and even though it's at a level that "normal" babies get to go home, due to her prematurity, the docs would rather start treatment. So, Maggie is laying in a quasi-tanning bed (that is slowly eroding Hubby's retinas) for her phototherapy, wearing weird puffy "sunglasses" that we keep having to put back on her every 5 minutes, as she won't stop grabbing at them. We haven't been given a time until discharge, since all babies are different and recover at different rates, but at 6am tomorrow they'll do another blood draw and we'll see from there what the docs say. We, of course, will be spending the night here with her.

So, for now, that's it. I will be adding photos here soon, I promise, but as I have been home a grand total of about 14 hours and most of those were in the middle of the night, and I'm more tuckered out than I've ever been EVER, y'all will just have to be patient. Plus, I'm doing this in Maggie's hospital room right now, on a hospital computer, so I don't even have access to my pics. But they'll be along as soon as we can all get home and settled in.

And not to overdo or overstate this at all, but I just have to say, at least once more, THANK YOU ALL. We have been wrapped in prayer during this entire pregnancy, and have never felt it more than this past week. Every one of you has been so instrumental in getting our baby here and we can't even express how special each of you are to us. Even those of you we haven't met, or who only know us here in blog world, we appreciate your presence in our lives. Thank you all for your prayers and love, and PRAISE GOD for our little miracle!

And ... a Happy Birthday to our little Samantha. Can you believe it's been a year?

NST, Take 2

So, I had my second stressful non-stress test today. I doubt I'm going to post about this twice a week, but I am today just because I'm a bit frustrated.

Once again, Peanut did not cooperate or "quite pass" his/her test (click here for info on NST). Again with the belly buzzing and bouncing. Even though I've told the nurses and docs MULTIPLE times that they have scheduled me during our babe's most inactive time of day, they don't listen. Or, they are just not super-concerned, in which case, quit making me so worried. Anyway, I had another biophysical profile today, which they had to squeeze me in for as I was not scheduled for one, just to be sure everything is A-OK.

So there was more sitting and waiting.

And sitting and waiting.

And once again, Peanut looks just fine. Heartbeat is good, I got to see Peanut's chest moving up and down doing practice-breathing, size and all is on target, nothing hinky going on with babe or baby-sustaining parts. Of course, he didn't want to wake up for the ultrasound tech, either.

Big surprise there.

What part of "my child is not a morning person" they aren't hearing, I just don't know. But they're stressing me out. To the point tha I had a bad dream last night about failing this test and having all manner of baby-related problems and woke up crying. To quote Charlie Brown, "Good Grief!"

To us, it just looks like we have a late sleeper on our hands. Which is good. I'm a little worried that's because it's Party Central at 2 am and I'm just able to sleep through that right now, but I guess we'll find out about that pretty darn soon :)

So, to summarize: Peanut's good. And just in case you're wondering, Hubby's good, too. And I'm good (if you don't count funky dreams and tons of needles).

Oh, and sometime during our 36th or 37th week, the docs want to get me on the schedule for my induction (which will be during week 39). The doc today (Dr. Lam - who was a doc we saw in the hospital with Samantha) said they would actually prefer for me to be induced, as oppposed to going into labor on my own, because of the blood-thinner I'm on.

I'm officially at the "whatever" point and just ready to get this thing goin' already!

Oh oh (ya know, like p.s.s.), we're officially beginning to clear out the baby room this Saturday (after the breastfeeding class we're BOTH attending - if anything noteworthy happens or Hubby just goes into a catatonic state, I'll be sure to let y'all know), so be sure to send "good cleaning" vibes our way :)

Okay, I think the rambling is done for now. Thanks for playing along.
