Show Us Your Life 08.07.08

This is the last wedding post for Kelly's "Show Us Your Life" carnival. Today is about receptions and honeymoons. Well, I have reception pictures for ya, but honeymoon pictures are in that box at my mom's that I still haven't been able to get to yet, so they will just have to come sometime later when I get a chance to dig ... and with a child that will be, what? 18 years from now? :)

Our wedding reception was held at the Officer's Club at Luke AFB. It was SO fun, although the whole day seemed to have gone by in such a blur :) We had delicious dinner, fabulous service, and fun, fun, fun!

Here we are leaving the church ...

This is our cake, which I LOVED. Not only was it pretty but it tasted divine. French vanilla cake with chocolate mousse between the layers, and a buttercream frosting to die for ... mmmmmm-mm!

This picture cracks me up ... "Waiting for Cake" ...

After all the food and formalities, everyone finally got down to partying :) And what's a reception without "The Electric Slide" ...

... or the "Cha Cha Slide" ...

Can y'all guess this song?

This was a semi-Italian-inspired wedding (Daddy-o is a 1st generation American as both of his parents immigrated from Italy), so not only was there an Italian sweets table (of which no picture exists ... can you believe that??), we had to dance the traditional "Tarantella" ...

And this is how you know it's time to call it a night ...

We went to Ireland and Italy for our honeymoon, because, well, our parents are AWESOME! We spent a week in SW Ireland and love-love-loved it. Seriously, I think I could live there. We definitely want to go back. Near the end of our trip we spent about 5 days in Rome. We had gotten clearance before we left the States to meet the Pope (JP2) and have our marriage blessed, but the Wednesday we were there turned out to be a Holy Day of Obligation, so instead of getting to meet him, we attended Mass at St. Peter's Basilica for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Which was totally cool. It just would have been cooler if we'd gotten to meet him, ya know? It was an amazing trip, though, and we can't wait to be able to do it again.

So, there ya have it. Be sure to hop around and visit your bloggy neighbors ...

Happy Friday!
